Mr. Dean is a man with big goals and an even bigger love for chocolate! After being hospitalized for encephalopathy and a DVT, Mr. Dean was issued a gastronomy tube due to difficulty swallowing and malnutrition. When he arrived to Rehab America Huntsville, he was extremely weak and depending on others to move around. He couldn’t walk and needed maximum assistance with his daily activities.

Mr. Dean had two distinct goals: to return home and to go back to eating his favorite snacks – most importantly, chocolate! With the therapy experts and lots of hard work, he made excellent progress. He was moved to a long-term care facility where he was able to do more for himself.

Shortly after, Mr. Dean started therapy again to make even more progress and get back home. After a couple of months, Mr. Dean was discharged just in time for Valentine’s Day! We’re so proud of Mr. Dean and all he has accomplished.
