Betty Blackstock was admitted to Rehab America Decaturville for rehabilitation after a challenging hospitalization. She faced multiple health issues, including hyperglycemia, metabolic encephalopathy, and cellulitis. It became apparent that Mrs. Blackstock needed maximum assistance for most of her daily activities, like dressing and bathing. However, her unwavering spirit helped her embrace the challenges presented to her in therapy, determine to regain her independence and return home, where she lives alone.
With the support of her therapists, Mrs. Blackstock began walking laps around the outside of the facility, without the need of a walker or any assistive device. She also learned to cook simple meals, make her bed, and care for herself safely. We are so proud of Betty and all her accomplishments. Congratulations!
